Rerenga Kupu o te Wiki
The phrase this week is:
Ko te Hakihea te maraka tekau mā rua o te tau. December is the 12 month of the year. In the Māori maramataka, it is the 7th month of the year.
Hakihea is identified by the rising of the star Rehua (Antares). Karaka berries are ripening, and flowers are abundant. The pōhutukawa is in bloom and some crops are ready for harvesting.
